Day 4 of this lower back pain saga! It all started last Wednesday during my morning workout—those bent-over rows really did a number on me. Ever since, I’ve been struggling to stand straight, but oddly enough, sitting or lying down feels totally fine. It’s frustrating not to be able to hit the gym like I want, but today brought a bit of relief. I went for a physiotherapy session, and it’s safe to say, things are looking up! The physiotherapist reassured me that I could still work out, as long as I steer clear of exercises that stress my lower back. Music to my ears—can’t wait to hit the gym tomorrow and get my blood pumping again, pain-free!

Yesterday was hectic. I spent the entire day shuffling between doctors’ appointments with my mum and dad for their routine check-ups. It was a bit of a marathon, honestly. Between tests, reports, and the waiting rooms, I was exhausted. But, in the end, I’m glad everything got done, and they’re both doing well. It’s moments like these that make me so grateful for the strong people in my life.

Speaking of which, I have to shout out my best friend Zaber and his wife, Shamma. I don’t have a brother, but if I did, Zaber would be it. He and Shamma always have my back, and their support means the world to me. And then there’s Roney, my “other” brother, all the way in the Maldives. Despite the distance, he’s always there, offering me medical advice like the true healer he is. Seriously, if there’s a problem, he’s my guy. It’s amazing how some bonds transcend time and distance.

On a different note, I’m completely engrossed in Elif Shafak’s There Are Rivers in the Sky. What an amazing read! It’s like I’m being transported into another world, a much-needed escape from the chaos of daily life. I find myself flipping through pages, completely lost in the beauty of her storytelling.

And today, a little culinary magic happened. My mum whipped up some fried Poya Machh bhuna—something I hadn’t tasted in 20 years! It was like being transported back to childhood. I can’t describe how good it tasted, and to top it off, the fact that Mum made it just made the whole experience so special. Truly blessed!

Let’s see what tomorrow brings. Hopefully, it’ll involve a good workout session and a little less back pain!
